CONTACT HANDGUN 1: Close Quarter Combatives

This is a four hour weekend course that covers the skills needed to use a handgun effectively for self defense in Extreme Close Quarters.

What you will learn from Contact Handgun:

• Threat Assessment, Avoidance and Victim Deselection Strategies

• Low Profile Weapon Deployment in Lethal Force scenarios

• Holstered and Drawn Handgun Retention

• Handgun Deployment at Extreme Close Range

• Principles of Muzzle Impact and Contact Shooting

• Combative One Handed Operation

• Grounded Gunfighting

Expect to fire about 200 rounds of ammunition. This course is designed expressly for the student who is experienced drawing from a holster and safely re-holstering.

Much of the class will be spent working with inert firearm training replicas in drills that will later be validated with Live Fire exercises.

This class will run approximately 5 hours and we will take a break for Lunch. There are no restaurants nearby and closest convenience store is 10 miles south of the range. Please plan accordingly and bring food and beverages with you.

What to bring:

• A reliable semi-auto pistol (9mm or larger)
• A minimum of 3 magazines
• 200 rounds of reliable training ammo
• Basic Gun Cleaning Kit & Lube
• A Quality Inside the Waist Band (IWB) or Outside the Waist Band (OWB)holster & mag pouches
• A Cover Garment if you are planning on working from Concealment
• Ball Cap, Eye and Ear protection
• Folding Chair, Sunscreen, Insect Repellent, Water and Snacks

Please NO Blackhawk SERPA or flimsy or cloth type holsters.

For twenty-eight years, Fletch has provided Firearms and Tactical training to Law Enforcement, Military and Responsible Citizens in the areas of Self Defense. He is certified as a firearms instructor by Rangemaster, Sage Dynamics (Optics), the NRA Law Enforcement Division and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. Fletch has been a featured presenter for numerous training organizations such as the International Law Enforcement Educators and Trainers Association (ILEETA), the International Association of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors (IALEFI) and the Rangemaster Tac-Con.
