Scheduled Calendar of Events Events

This is a list of all the scheduled competition and events we have at the range.  Pre registration is not required. Just show up and get in on the fun.  We have many "couples" that shoot together and this is a great "date night" to spend time together.

If you have never competed in any of the disciplines we have, come out and watch and see if it is something you would like to try.

The Cadre Session Six: Well This Is Awkward

  • The Cadre Session Six: Becoming A Shot Caller

The final Cadre Session will coalesce everything that’s come before and push you to do even better. The previous five sessions have been about developing your pistol skills so that the process of grip, stance, sights and trigger happen automatically, speeding up your shooting and allowing your brain to handle other problems.

In Session Six, we put it all together, and have you shoot the FBI Pistol Qualification, one of the more-demanding pistol qualifications out there.

    Gear Requirements:

    • A pistol (9mm/38 Special or larger caliber)
    • A spare magazine
    • At least 200 rounds of ammo. The FBI qual takes 50 rounds, and we’ll be shooting it twice
    • A cover garment such as light jacket or oversized t-shirt
    • A holster suitable for concealed carry. Please do not bring a Blackhawk! Serpa holster or soft nylon holster such as an Uncle Mike’s or similar holster.
    • A sturdy gun belt

Self Defense Outside The Home

(Pistolcraft 101)

Take the next step in the journey towards an armed and safe lifestyle

If you own a gun, you are exercising your right to keep arms.
This classes teaches you how to bear arms.
These days, personal defense is the #1 reason why people buy guns. A gun and a concealed carry license by themselves, however, doesn’t provide you any protection anymore than buying a guitar and some sheet music provides musical talent. This class covers the essentials of using a pistol to defend yourself as you live your everyday life.

We keep this three to four-hour class small (just eight students) in order to maximize the 1-1 training opportunities. The instruction is focused on helping you make the transition from being just a gun owner to someone who has the skills and confidence to defend what is most important in your life.

Keep and BEAR armsSelf Defense

Gear Requirements

  • A pistol (.380 ACP or larger caliber)
  • At least two magazines for your pistol
  • 200 rounds of FMJ practice ammo
  • An Outside the Waistband (OWB) holster. If you do not have one, this holster fits most compact semi-automatic pistols and will do the job for this class. Please do not bring a Blackhawk Serpa or a soft nylon holster to class. If you have any questions about gear, email me at [email protected].
  • A magazine pouch to store an extra magazine. If you do not have a magazine pouch, this model will expand to fit just about anything out there.
  • Eye protection, ear protection
  • Water, bug spray, sunscreen

This class is designed to show people how to make the transition from just have a piece of paper that says you MAY carry a defensive firearm with you to someone who has the skills and confidence to carry on a regular basis.

Topics covered will include:

  • How to get your gun into the fight as fast as possible
  • Safe use of a holster
  • The use of a pistol as a defensive firearm
  • Making the shot on-demand
  • Advanced accuracy techniques

At the completion of this course, each student will understand how to keep their firearm concealed until it is needed.
They will also know how to quickly and efficiently deploy it in a safe manner should the need arise.

SCSA Steel Challenge

Sanctioned Approved Competition at Deep 50 Gun Range

We are sanctioned and approved to host all USPSA and Steel Challenge matches at our range. With each shooting discipline, the stages are set to each event and we follow the rulebook that is most current.  For more information on the specific rules, please follow the links.

1.) Steel Challenge Rules

Each one of these shooting disciplines has it’s own unique characteristic. If you are new to Competition Shooting, then we always recommend starting out with The Steel Challenge shooting competition.  You will stand in a box and engage 5 steel targets in what’s called a “String”. The time will stop on the last shot fired. You will do this 5 times per Stage, and your worst time will be eliminated.  There are a total of 6 stages at this match and it is a fun and addicting sport.

When you are ready for some fast action after SCSA Steel Challenge, then you should move on to USPSA.  You will be given instructions on how to start the stage HOWEVER, it is up to you to decide the best way to engage the targets for you or your equipment.  You are scored on your speed and accuracy .  This sport is a great blend of your imagination and your proficiency .  Your skills will greatly improve by at least 10 times versus a trainer or just practicing.

Please pay attention to these details.

Gates open at 8:45 am.

Registration opens at 9:00 and closes at 9:45 sharp.

Our Pledge and shooters meeting at 9:50

First shots fired at 10:00 am.
